I know it’s a bit early to do a Valentine’s Day post, but maybe this will be less depressing now then later for those of you who celebrate Single’s Awareness Day instead of V-day.
Everyone says being in love is pretty much the bom-diggity. We all want someone to love us…even multiple people! Not that I’m promoting polygamy, but you know what I mean. Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone love everyone? One day, folks, one day!
But for now, love is hard! From 1 Corinthians 13 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away…And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
Fairytales and people around us tell us we meet someone, we fall in love and live happily ever after. No, you meet someone, get to know them, and then work your heiny off the rest of your life learning to love them. You try to be patient when they won’t stop talking. You try to be kind when they hurt you. You try not to envy them and you don’t boast or be prideful. You always put them first and keep your anger under control. You forget their wrongs etc. And then when you’ve done a good job of that you’re tired and it’s hard to be patient and loving and you need time for yourself.
Anyways, I’m sure love gets easier over time, but for those media producers and other people out there, you ain’t doing anything to help people with the concept of love. Fights actually do happen and getting girls presents doesn’t always solve the problem.
Okay, rant finished…can I have your thoughts on my opinion?
