So, I work at Walgreens, as many of you know. I can’t really complain about the job (although I do). It pays minimum wage, but my boss is really good about giving me time off when I need it and giving me more hours when I need to pay for college. The work itself really depends on my attitude or the type of customers I get that shift.
I’m getting pretty bummed about being at home with very little social life, not getting enough exercise, missing friends from Dordt, missing my boyfriend, feeling like I’m not making a difference in anyone’s life, not being consistent in my devotions etc.
So I have a plan. It won’t get me a social life. It won’t get me more exercise. It won’t make a difference in anyone’s life and it won’t get me in the Bible more. But hopefully it will give me a more positive (or at least humorous) attitude toward work and maybe that in turn will make me more energetic and positive about the rest of my life.
My plan: To write about interesting/funny/strange customers and happenings at work. There is hardly a day of work that goes by without a customer saying or doing something quite outrageous. Don’t worry, I will keep all characters anonymous or give them fake names. So I hope you enjoy it. I can’t promise they’ll all be funny or that exciting. But they will give you a deeper look into humanity and what a person with a low-end (or at least low-paying) job goes through every single day.
Please stay tuned…if you dare!
