I want to go to sleep but feel as though I should record these happenings before I forget.
Yesterday a woman wanted advice about mascara. Unfortunately, the person who responded to the “Customer assistance in cosmetics, please,” was a male manager who, as you may have guessed, has never worn mascara. I got the pleasure of taking over for him. What he apparently doesn’t know, however, is that I have only worn mascara a few times and have not experimented with the many options. Waterproof, lengthening, thickening, CoverGirl, Almay, L’Oreal, etc. When she asked my opinion I had to sheepishly admit that I’d only tried one brand. Luckily, there was a nearby customer who overheard our conversation and came to my rescue. She had tried all the different options and actually had an opinion about them. Basically, I should just read the labels and say that that’s what they do. Maybelline has good mascara and waterproof is waterproof, lengthening makes the lashes longer and thickening makes them thicker. yup.
Today a usual customer with about 50 coupons came in (we all like to rush to take our breaks as soon as we see her come in). She ended up returning something but wanted me to go look to see if we had any “small” shirts. I went to look, but she didn’t tell me what color she wanted. I took the two that I found back to her. Apparently she wanted medium shirts. When I asked her what color she wanted(trying to avoid the previous problem) she insisted that she wanted medium. I took that to mean any color. And I finished her shopping for her. Please do your own shopping. Thank you and have a nice day.
Final story happened this morning. A man was with his four-year-old(ish) son. He put down his items and then did a double take because apparently he did not want to purchase one of the items. His son had picked up some KY Arousal gel and he forgot to return it before he came to the front. I thought it was funny, but the dad was very embarrassed and apologized a few times. 🙂
Oh, also a lady told me that she had never had such good service in a long time. That almost made Mrs. Mascara and Mrs. Coupons worth it.
