Nothing too exciting happened today, but I’d like to tell you all about some regulars that we have…who I have learned are quite unique.
One lady who came in today usually spends about 20 minutes at the register. She comes in to get the deals…and get them she does! I don’t know if she’s actually capable of buying something that is not on sale. She comes in (and I”m not exaggerating here!) with a purse full of coupons. Not a small purse, a good sized purse. She has them all sorted and in plastic baggies. Mixed in she also has bottles of pills. She tries to do about 5 different transactions as to best use all her coupons and she will make me call the manager to get her 24 cents back if she forgets to use a coupon. When she came in today I literally sighed. Shame on me. She only bought one thing, which is a first!
A middle-aged man came in today talking about how the hurricane is going to hit tomorrow (it’s actually headed south of us right now). He’s not a regular, but I’ve seen him before. He just doesn’t really make much sense, ever. But he’s talkative so that makes it interesting. Maybe he’s schizophrenic? multiple personality disorder? Today he had a little bit of a bloody nose and didn’t seem to notice. He told me he liked the man standing outside holding the flag…very patriotic! (Except it was dark and there was no one holding a flag).
Both are made in the image of God. Image of God..image of God…image of God. Don’t forget, Charis!
