Well today I bring you the sad news that there are lots of people doing scams out there and they seem to really like Walgreens. What I don’t understand is why they do it multiple times. Today we had a lady that is known in our store for trying to pull scams. She plays dumb, pretends to forget coupons, does multiple returns and ends up making money. She did four transactions with four different cashiers because she figured she could get away with it that way. We were all watching her and called the cashier she was at every time to warn her. The manager ended up checking her out every time. And she still didn’t understand that she wasn’t going to get away with it. Grrrr.
Also, I have nothing against Asian people and I hate stereotypes. But it is a true statement that the majority of the Asian people that come into our store are annoyingly cheap. And they’ll fight until they get what they want. If you don’t understand Walgreens, you won’t understand what I’m talking about, but they use Register Rewards like there’s no tomorrow, try to use expired coupons, buy bulk amounts of toothbrushes just because they’re on sale…I mean really. My mom taught me well that if you don’t need it, even if it’s one sale, you’re spending more money than you need to.
In other news…I had an interesting talk about Christianity with my boss. It was “off the record,” so I don’t know if I can say much, but it was interesting.
One funny story: A man came in and asked me where the denture adhesive was. I told him, “Aisle 3 on the right.” When he got back to the register he said, “Do you know why I need the small bottle? It’s because I take my dentures out in the afternoon or whenever they get loose and put some stuff in them. The big bottles are too hard to carry in my pocket.” “AAaaaaah…” You know, I was really curious, so I’m glad he told me 😛
